Ukrainian Gothic Portal review of Open Aeon

October 25, 2006

2006th year is very rich in pleasant novelties, and one of them has been the new Open Aeon EP from the fledgling Australian dark- electro group with the simple name Empty.

This EP is the first official release from the group, after last year's four-track demo.

Their music represents sufficiently calm and dark electronics, not too aggressive, benevolent to say.

The track "Ghost beside you" at the very beginning of the disc blows in with a gloomy atmosphere and computerized and distorted vocal effects will appeal to music's certain spacey mysteriousness.

Beautiful and melodious tracks - here is the fundamental component of this disc. Learnt from Empty was not to pretend for a deep and atmospheric background, but was naturally given to them in the hand.

On the disc, two remixes can also be found, among which, one remix is by the already well known Australian EBM group Angel Theory with the composition of the track "Blue".

After this promising start, I am more than confident that we will be hearing more from Empty in the distant Sydney.

The new album "Surfacing" is now available

Empty - Surfacing

A breath of badly needed fresh air.

- Rick Gallo (Arable Farmland - Chicago, USA)

Complex and melodic, with an underlying current of desperation.

- Charles Fenech (ANGELTHEORY - Melbourne, Australia)
