Side-Line review of Open Aeon

March 15, 2007

This is the official cd-debut of the Australian Empty-duo. They compose a kind of wafting dark pop style.

The vocals don't totally convince me on the debut-song, but then they became more whispering and spooky like, which definitely fits more to the dark mood of their electronics.

The "Blue", "Scarred" and "Run down"-songs are excellent ambassadors of their creation while the "Ascension remix" of "Blue" by Angel Theory becomes the high light of this "Open Aeon". This is quite an acceptable debut!

Empty - Surfacing

A breath of badly needed fresh air.

- Rick Gallo (Arable Farmland - Chicago, USA)

Complex and melodic, with an underlying current of desperation.

- Charles Fenech (ANGELTHEORY - Melbourne, Australia)
