Aliens review of Open Aeon

August 1, 2006

Regarding to myself, this year was very disappointing with regards to the work of Dismantled and complete inconsiderable and pop orientation of this project, thus I was very pleased I hit new blood and similar sound in this band's performance.

Well, let's forget Dismantled and let's go in for the offer of this new Australian project. EP, including 8 excellent pulsing tracks in a style, the biggest stars in electro/industrial community wouldn't be ashamed of.

Atmospheric, rhythmical tracks in which plasmatic vocal and huge spectrum of electro blocks are kinking. I can't help myself, but this reminds me of first release of Dismantled, even in this case you can hear his progress and particular experiments with voice.

Melodic sequences meet the noises and non-commercial rhythms. Everything fits and leaves great listening. Something for the fans focused on FLA and Dismantled. Excellent debut!!!!

Quite short material, but bigger is the expectation what next this formation will show in close future!!!

Rating: 4 / 5 (80%)

Empty - Surfacing

A breath of badly needed fresh air.

- Rick Gallo (Arable Farmland - Chicago, USA)

Complex and melodic, with an underlying current of desperation.

- Charles Fenech (ANGELTHEORY - Melbourne, Australia)
